Former world champion cyclist Lizzie Deignan can tuck into a fabulous Lewis & Cooper hamper after her exciting victory in the Women's Tour de Yorkshire last weekend.
Otley-born Lizzie stormed to an incredible solo win in the 122-kilometre stage from Tadcaster to Harrogate before being presented with her hamper during the podium celebrations.
Lewis & Cooper was delighted to be named as official hamper suppliers to the men's and women's events, which attracted record crowds of 2.2 million during three days of epic racing.
Winners of all three stages in the men's event were also presented with hampers packed with delicious food and drink from local Yorkshire producers. Also pictured proudly sporting his hamper is Dutch rider Dylan Groenewegen, who won the first stage from Bridlington to Scarborough.
Operations Director Victoria Howard and Hampers Sales Manager Mel Rose got the chance to share the Scarborough stage with Welcome to Yorkshire Chief Executive Sir Gary Verity, who was the driving force for the race's creation in 2015.
Says Sir Gary: “Yorkshire is home to some of the finest food and drink in the world, so it’s only fitting that the winners of the Tour de Yorkshire took home a selection of the county’s delicacies from Lewis and Cooper to remind them of their time here.”
